  8. The North American Hockey Echo is a place where all aspects of Hockey in
  9. North America and the world can be maturely discussed.    Topics include (but
  10. are not limited to) NHL, AHL, IHL, WHL, OHL, RHI, college, other major
  11. world leagues, the Olympic games, rule changes, trades, injuries and
  12. little-known trivia.
  13.  
  14.  1. No flames, profanity, or violations of FidoNet rules (this means
  15.     "My team is better then your team 'cause they're my team" type
  16.     messages will not be allowed--SUBSTANTIATE WITH FACTS).

  18.  2. Stay "On-Topic"; move off-topic messages to the appropriate echo
  19.     or to netmail.
  20.  
  21.  3. Game stats and non-NHL standings may be posted at will.  Since the
  22.     NHL gets acceptable standings coverage, NHL standings are not
  23.     necessary, but AHL, OHL, etc. standings are welcome.

  25.  4. Hockey pools (including swapping of teams, player lists, etc.) may
  26.     be run through the echo provided the pools do not involve gambling.
  27.     Other pools MAY NOT be conducted in the Hockey echo.

  29.  5. Users/Nodes violating the Echo Rules will be given three notices
  30.     by either the Moderator or the Co-Moderator or a combination of
  31.     the two.
  32.       1st Notice - Public via the HOCKEY echo OR private via netmail.
  33.       2nd Notice - Private via netmail, carbon-copy (cc) to the SysOp;
  34.       3rd Notice - Private via netmail, cc to SysOp and to the
  35.             appropriate HEC/NEC/REC/ZEC.
  36.     Failure to comply after two requests may result in user and/or
  37.     node banishment from the HOCKEY echo.

  39.  6. Gating of the HOCKEY echo to networks other than Fidonet must be
  40.     pre-approved by the Moderator.  Proof must be provided that
  41.     technical standards will not be violated.  Outside of Fidonet,
  42.     this echo is offered by request to the Moderator ONLY, so as to
  43.     maintain a level of maturity so that intelligent discussions about
  44.     hockey may take place.  Additionally, the Moderator has the right
  45.     to terminate the inter-network gating of the echo as he sees fit.

  47.  7. The Moderator serves at his own pleasure and will choose a new
  48.     Moderator to take over if he is unable to continue moderating.
  49.     Co-Moderator(s) serve at the pleasure of the Moderators and
  50.     function with the same authority as do moderators, with the
  51.     following exceptions:
  52.        - Co-Moderators must obtain the Moderator's approval to submit
  53.      echolist updates.
  54.        - Co-Moderators must obtain the Moderator's approval to grant
  55.      inter-network gating permission.
  56.        - Co-Moderators may not revise the HOCKEY echo rules.

  58.  8. Notify the Moderator via netmail if you feel a user has broken the
  59.     rules.  Questions regarding the rules are to be asked in netmail
  60.     to the Moderator.

  62.  9. This document is subject to Moderator review and may be changed by
  63.     the Moderator without notice.
  64.  
  65. 10. Anyone wishing to conduct an echo poll of the participants, MUST
  66.     seek prior permission from the Moderator before posting the
  67.     questionnaire.  If a non-approved questionnaire is posted in the
  68.     echo, the posting person shall be subject to suspension from the
  69.     echo.  To obtain approval NETMAIL your request, along with a copy
  70.     of your questionnaire to the Moderator at 1:2607/116.
